Who Is The Eyebrow Lift Procedure Suitable For?

The eyebrow lift is suitable for both men and women, and there is no minimum or maximum age to perform the surgery. However, it is usually performed on patients between the ages of 40 and 60, as its objective is to correct the natural effects of aging. Surgery is only indicated for younger patients when the eyebrows droop early, whether due to excessive exposure to the sun, genetic characteristics, or health status.

What Are The Types Of Eyebrow Lifts?

The surgeon removes and repositions muscles and skin during the procedure, using threads (absorbable or not), surgical screws, or other devices. With the intervention and lifting of the eyebrows, it is also possible to smooth the forehead wrinkles.

Eyebrow Lifting Can Be Performed Using The Following Techniques:

– Suspension of the eyebrows with wires: four minimal incisions are made on each side, two above the eyebrow and two hidden in the scalp (1 mm each), with detachment only in the path of the area to be suspended through wires passed through a long needle;

– Skin resection above the eyebrows: a small incision is made on the side and top of the eyebrows, enough to raise them. The scar is disguised in the hairline;

– Endoscopic frontoplasty: through three to five incisions in the scalp (0.5 to 2.0 cm each) and with a camera connected to a monitor, the entire frontal area is detached up to the limits of the nose and eyes. Then, the doctor performs the natural repositioning of the eyebrows or traction of their sides with surgical threads;

– Open frontoplasty: a bilateral incision is made in the scalp, with a detachment of the entire frontal area up to the limits of the nose and eyes. Then, the surgeon suspends the eyebrows through traction and tissue resection.

In general, the surgery lasts between 30 minutes and two hours, depending on the technique used by the doctor. The length of stay varies according to the anesthesia used, but the patient is usually discharged on the same day as the procedure.
